From the director of Lady Bird and Little Women, Greta Gerwig, comes a highly anticipated film starring Hollywood A-listers Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. With its allusions to the classic 2001: Space Odyssey, the movie’s debut teaser, which clocks in at little over a minute, has already aroused enthusiasm among fans.

The teaser begins with numerous young girls smashing their baby dolls, a tribute to the classic toys that were previously popular but gave way to the globally recognized Barbie dolls.

One of the reasons fans are excited about the film is the cast, with Gosling playing a broken Ken, a change from his regular portrayals. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Gosling shared his thoughts on accepting the role, saying, “It was the best script I’ve ever read. I found Ken face down in the mud next to a squished lemon and I knew his story needed to be told.”

Margot Robbie, well known for her role in The Wolf of Wall Street, will co-star with Ryan Gosling in the film. She has claimed that the film would provide spectators with something absolutely unexpected, adding, “Whatever you’re thinking, we’re going to give you something totally different, the thing you didn’t know you wanted.”
